As a member of Barrow Station Adoption Group I was keen to get involved with a scheme to beautify platform 2 with the addition of artwork along the fence. Some 20 months from first talking about the project, the first piece appeared. The boards for the project were cut and securely fixed by Nick and prepared ready to paint by Annette. It’s hoped over time to spread colourful art along the whole platform, each new piece being enhanced with flowers painted by local community groups. Barrow Scouts understood the first assignment, beautiful work by them. Barrow Station Adopters have previously added a sleeper wall and wonderful planting along the whole length of platform 1 to make the station a welcoming place. Funding provided by EMR.
